FARMAKON Singer To Guest On GALEXIA CD
June 19, 2007FARMAKON lead singer/bassist Marko Eskola has been confirmed as one of the guest musicians on the self-titled album from GALEXIA, the project led by Orange, Connecticut-based musician Kenneth Joseph Spaziani. Also scheduled appear on the CD are Arjen A. Lucassen (AYREON),Joost Dan Ven Broek (AFTER FOREVER),Damian Wilson (ex-THRESHOLD) and Gordon Tittsworth (IMAGES OF EDEN),among others.
Regarding Eskola's involvement in the project, Spaziani said, "Marko is an extremely talented vocalist. When I first heard FARMAKON, I was blown away by his diversity and perfect delivery of each vocal style. With low growls, high screams, powerful melodic vocals, and a hauntingly beautiful singing style during the acoustic passages. I am going to use every style Marko has to offer while also exploring the flourishes of Mike Patton I hear in his voice."
Eskola will appear on one song, entitled "Transparency". The track is said to be "a seven-minute piece starting with slow spacey synthesizers, gorgeous guitar work and memorable melodic passages then shifting into a full-force blend of death metal, stoner doom and industrial." "The song is one of my favorite cuts from the album," said Spaziani. "It's very progressive and fits the mood of the album. When writing it I kept getting this amazing vibe from the soft opening, it's like a mixture of PINK FLOYD, CHROMA KEY, and RADIOHEAD. The heavy half of the song is my favorite, it reminds me a lot of STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, with some droney moments. The song, along with the entire album is a non-stop wall of sound. During the heavy part of 'Transparency', 16 instrument tracks are present at once, along with eight vocal tracks. This isn't even close to the most instruments at one time during the album either, I've been experimenting with adding endless layers of various instruments."
